Whether you are working with existing furnishings and fabrics or starting from scratch with an empty room, you should always use the elements and principles of decorating and design as a guide in choosing everything that goes into the decor. The elements are your tools, much like hammers and saws are the basics to a carpenter. The elements of design include space, line, form, color, and texture. The principles of decorating relate to how you use these elements. The principles of design are balance, emphasis, rhythm, proportion and scale, and harmony and unity.

Designing With Kitchen Track Lighting
Have you ever walked into a kitchen where the lighting was so bad you could hardly see clearly enough to prepare a meal? If this sounds like yours then maybe you should consider kitchen track lighting.
Your kitchen should have a well designed lighting system giving each work area a light of its own. Kitchen track lighting can provide this function with the flexible design and lights that you can aim to provide light to an exact area.
Depending on the layout of the workspace, many times you can provide the necessary light for two or three work areas with a single kitchen track lighting system.
While some kitchen track lighting systems are flexible and can be formed, others are fixed and must be positioned in a very specific spot to provide the working surface with the proper light. An example of this is the pendant lighting where each pendent will hang in a very specific location.
The more diverse your kitchen track lighting is, the more options you will have in the design aspect of your kitchen. There are many styles such as contemporary, classic, and antique that you can choose to make your kitchen special and inviting to guests.
How do you know if you are choosing the right kitchen track lighting? First and foremost, it should be of a design that you like. With the kitchen being one of the most used rooms in a home, you would not want to install just any lighting system.
Next would be the flexibility and design of your new kitchen track lighting. Is it easy to install? Does it blend, stand out or conflict with you décor? When you can answer these simple questions then you will know that the kitchen track lighting you choose is right for you.
This is just one of many design ideas that will help you improve not only the functionality of your kitchen, but will give it a fresh and exciting new feel. Updating is easy with kitchen track lighting.
Daybed sets take the guesswork out of decorating. With everything you need in one simple package, it is possible to transform a room in minutes.
Versatility is the key of the daybed and to get the most out of it, you really need daybed bedding that can go the distance. Good linens can withstand whatever you dish out, from an endless string of out of town guests to kids who use the daybed as a couch or lounge chair.
Although daybeds are a space-saver compared to full-size beds, the daybed is not an especially small piece of furniture. Put the wrong bedding on it and it can stick out like a sore thumb. So choose carefully and make sure the placement is right for your room.
The perfect choice for you just may be a new daybed set.

Discount comforter sets are not always such a bargin.
If you are not careful you can get some of lesser quality. On the other hand, many discount comforter sets are those which are either discontinued or may have slight flaws that most people will never find.
These are the discount comforter sets you need to look for if you want a real bargin. Though considered a good deal, these are not the only ones out there. Some designers and manufacturers will make over runs in order for large discount outlets to purchase them and sell at a reduced price.
Either way, there are some really good buys and if you look hard enouth (sometimes it is even easy) you can find some really good discount comforter sets.

What a great day it was. The temp was perfect and lots of sunshine! I sure wanted to get out and enjoy it but I had things that needed to be done.
One was to do a bit of research to find some of the best bargais on Cole Haan Handbags and even some great Trendy Handbags. And yes, I was successful. Cole Haan is a name that to me means comfort, style and simply classic.
It really is amazing as to how many different brands of handbags there are. Choosing the right trendy handbags as well as the Cole Haan handbags was not an easy task. But...I found some that I think everyone will really like. A few hot deals too.
Do you have a favorite handbag style? Maybe Cole Haan handbags are your favorites too or could it be another brand? Which ever style and brand you like best, I'm sure you will find the ones on Potpourri Emporium are classics.

Sometimes its fun to break away from the traditional look and go with something whimsical or a bit contemporary. You see it on all the design shows, in the magazines and now a bit of contemporary dinnerware is here at Potpourri Emporium Too.
I found this great set of contemporary dinnerware and thought it was perfect. The best part it was less than twenty bucks for the set of four.

You can set this with a great place mat (maybe a turquoise) on a pine or oak dining table and really dress up the room. The turquoise place mat will really make the mahogany dinnerware pop.
